Europe’s Extreme Drought Exposes Sunken Nazi-Era Warships in the Danube
The high temperature and drought experienced in Europe have contributed to the falling levels of water in the Danube River to reach unprecedented levels. The prolonged period of drought has led to the emergence of sunken warships of the Nazi era from World War II, old military equipment and even artifacts from the bottom of the river. Besides, the drying up of the river has impacted the lives of the locals in that the governments are limiting water use in agriculture, the nuclear plants find it difficult to keep cool, and wildfire is rapidly spreading in the area.
